Paula Morrow has been a children's literature specialist for over 30 years and still enjoys each new day in the world of children's books and reading. Her life is filled with editing, manuscript critiquing, speaking at writers' conferences, presenting workshops, book reviewing, and professional consulting related to children's literature.

[Note: I am NOT the Paula Morrow who reviews on Amazon!]

"Paula was my editor on two middle grade novels, Snowboarding on Monster Mountain and Reggie. She was smart, insightful and sensitive. She helped me structure each book and made valuable suggestions while still allowing me to speak with my own heart and my own voice. I have no hesitation in recommending her to aspiring writers. Seasoned writers, too!"

                                                                ~ Eve Bunting, Author

Paula's previous speaking engagements have included the Highlights Foundation Writers Workshop at Chautauqua; the World of Children's Literature conference at Lake Placid; The Manuscript Workshop in Londonderry, VT; the Drury College Writing for Children Workshop; the Maple Woods Writers Conference; and of course numerous SCBWI conferences and workshops.

In her former position as Executive Editor with Cricket Magazine Group, Paula edited the award-winning magazine Ladybug from Volume 1, 1991, through Volume 15, 2005; participated in the launch of Spider in 1994; launched Babybug and edited the unique board-book magazine's first 11 years.

As Editor with Cricket Books, Paula edited books by such esteemed children's authors as Eve Bunting, Barbara Seuling, and Marylin Hafner. She also discovered outstanding first novels such as the uniquely humorous Mom for Mayor by Nancy Edwards.

Before coming to Cricket, Paula was a long-time professional children's librarian; one highlight of those years was serving on the selection committee for the 1986 Newbery Award.

Paula was a regular columnist for the children's writers magazine Once Upon a Time until OUAT ceased publication in 2009. She currently reviews children’s books for newspapers in northern Illinois and teaches writing for children through the Institute of Children's Literature.

"A special thanks goes to my editor, Paula Morrow, for her amazing ability to ask just the

right questions."

"Paula has the experience-based insights to guide you faster and farther than you can go on

your own. What's more, with kindness and skill she'll hold your hand as you learn."
