I am available to edit for publishers with special projects. Previous clients have included McGraw-Hill, Scholastic, Schoolwide, Six Red Marbles, and more.
While my preferred style guide is CMS, I am also familiar with most others. I can quickly adapt to your house style on request.
I work with a limited number of individual writers seeking to polish their manuscripts for submission or for self-publishing.
• “Thank you for this critique! It was absolutely amazing—so thoughtful, so detailed, so on target.”
• “I have to say in all my years of writing for newspapers and magazines and now for children, you are one of the best editors I've ever worked with. Your comments have always been very precise, never vague, and have always kept the spirit of the manuscript while improving it!”
• “I wish I'd met you earlier, instead of struggling aimlessly in the dark. Now I'm beginning to see the light. Thank you so much!”
Many of my clients ask for help with marketing their manuscripts or have asked me to act as their agent in submitting to publishers. I’m not an agent and don’t recommend specific publishers; what I do is help you learn to do your own market research. I consider this to be more beneficial to you in the long run. You’ll be able to form your own opinion rather than be dependent on someone else’s thoughts.
